type='text'>This one's for you, Weston Odom -OR- Why you probably won't see me much for the rest of the week.

Giving this whole blogging thing one last shot...

Since I'd guess that I'll be writing about religious studies and art for a good bit of the time, a description of the busiest fall break and subsequent best weekend ever seems appropriate (and seems like all I'm awake enough to write at this point).

Thursday: Matthew and I spent a few hours putting the finishing touches on our arguments for and against Wal-Mart for the (entirely too quickly) approaching Moral Forum tournament. We'll see how they fare in the opening rounds on Monday. After that, I did the final editing on my paper for REL 240: Portraits of the Apocalypse in Contemporary Film. I'm not exactly sure how to properly define "sacred" or "secular", but at least I can prove that Conrad Ostwalt doesn't either.

Friday: Analyzing Muslim and Christian claims about the role of violence within Islam for Dr. Ramey's class by day, (assisting in) making cheesecake by night. Guess which I'm more excited about right now.

Saturday: Reaction paper on a Palestinian-Israeli peace proposal. Leaning towards doing the Performance Based Roadmap to a Permanent Two-State Solution. Eating aforementioned cheesecake.

Sunday: Driving back to Tuscaloosa (most like entirely too early). Memorizing speeches for Moral Forum. Doing a chapter or two of Arabic.

Monday, Tuesday, and Wedensday: Living in Gorgas Library while putting together a presentation on Saudi Arabia and doing research for a paper on Sharia.

Thursday: Cornel West lecture. Ryan Adams concert. Gloria in excelsis Deo. Al'hamdu lilah.

Friday: 1920's party for two of my favorite people.

Saturday: UA football. Go ahead and scoff, I've accepted it. Roll Tide.

I hope that wasn't entirely too boring or egocentric. If nothing else, it'll let me know what I'm supposed to be doing when it's 2 a.m. on Tuesday and I'm fighting to stay awake with everything in me. If I actually keep this up, I promise it won't be more of this every week. However, if nothing in my laundry list of work sounded halfway interesting then you might not care for what's to come...

Here goes nothing.

<div
